Rep. Paul Harris appointed to House Education Committee

Southwest Washington gained a strong voice on matters related to education in the state as Rep. Paul Harris, R-Vancouver, has been appointed to serve on the House Education Committee.

“Education has always been a priority and passion of mine. When you raise five children you want to stay active and involved in the education system,” said Harris. “I spent ten years on the board of directors of the Evergreen School District. Now I get the opportunity to contribute directly in the decisions of the future of education in the state of Washington. I am looking forward to the challenge before us as education will demand a lot of our attention in the upcoming session.”

Harris also serves as the assistant ranking Republican on the House Health Care and Wellness Committee and the Appropriations Committee.

The Legislature convenes on Jan. 11.
