17th District legislators to have town-hall meeting Saturday evening
OLYMPIA…Sen. Don Benton and Rep. Paul Harris are inviting 17th Legislative District residents to meet with them Saturday evening in Vancouver. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Firstenburg Community Center, 700 N.E. 136th Avenue.
“This is a great time to meet with the people we represent – to answer their questions and hear their opinions, especially about legislation that is still moving forward at the Capitol and hot-button issues such as the Columbia River Crossing. I’ll also provide an update on how the Majority Coalition Caucus has brought a refreshing and effective new approach to the state Senate,” said Benton, R-Vancouver, who is deputy coalition leader.
“We are over halfway through the session and at a critical part of the legislative session,” said Harris, R-Vancouver. “We have significant decisions to make regarding our transportation system, funding education, government reforms and certainly the budget. I look forward to the opportunity to hear constituent concerns and answer questions.”
The legislative session is scheduled to last 105 days, through April 28.
